Hillcrest Mental Health Centers provide mental health counseling services to individuals, families and children, as young as three, educational resources, stress management and community education. The program is administered by Hillcrest Family Services in three locations, Dubuque, Maquoketa and Washington County.

Licensed counselors work with a variety of issues, including depression, marital problems, parenting, crisis counseling, child abuse, sexual abuse, self esteem, eating disorders and grief and loss issues. They also provide follow-up services to persons discharged from mental health institutions.

The Center staff will refer to, or accept referrals from, other community agencies, and will consult with, and refer to, a consulting psychiatrist when appropriate.

On-going counseling fees are based upon a sliding-fee scale, insurance, private pay or county funding if eligibility criteria are met.
