Domain One: Planning and Preparation:

Domain Five: Special Education Laws, Procedures and Policies
26. To ensure the special education laws, procedures and policies are followed
on all students identified as receiving special education services.
a. Reviews records of all students assigned to classroom roster upon receipt of them. Notates date of IEP and 3 year re-evaluation date.
b. Reviews and determines if the current IEP is applicable and valid for
implementation in this school setting.
c. Contacts parents and reviews the current IEP and/or establishes a date for a new IEP to be written within one day of the student starting school. Reviews parental rights booklet with parent at this time.
d. Completes the IEP notification form and gives it the proper person for
mailing.
e. Attends all IEP meetings of students assigned to roster.
f. Assesses student's present level of performance and prepares a quality report for the development of annual goals and objective in the new IEP.
g. Conducts the IEP meeting in a professional manner with adequate
preparation of materials to be shared.
h. Presents progress and areas of difficulty in an objective, professional
quantitative manner.
i. Finalizes the IEP "electronically" and turns in to associate principal
according to established timeline. |
