This is an after school program for youth grades 6-12 that focuses on the development of the whole person through exercise, nutrition, career development, substance abuse education, abstinence plus education, and community service work.
Program features:
- Abstinence plus education - promoting abstinence and providing education on safe choices
- Self-esteem building
- Substance abuse education
- Healthy lifestyles - exercise and nutrition education
- Career development
- Provides transportation and meals at night
- Once a month family night - families are invited to program to share a meal and activities with their students
How can you help:
- Art materials
- Journals and pencils/pens
- Volunteers (please call for information)
- Field trip experiences (Career Development education with experience on the worksite)
The program focuses primarily on reinforcing self-esteem and making healthy choices for life. Y Club, as the students named it, is open to both boys and girls and is in partnership with the Dubuque Community Y.
Registration
The parents/guardians are asked to meet in person with the coordinator of the program to register their students.
