The goals of the Hillcrest Vocational Program are to enhance and promote work independence and to maximize each individual's abilities and skills.
Hillcrest Vocational Counselors help individuals by:
- Teaching the skills necessary to obtain a job
- Providing crisis intervention in the workplace
- Job-coaching
- Assisting in the development of work and community supports
- Providing on-going support after employment
Referrals are accepted from any professional or interested party. Prospective clients must be 18 years of age or older, who are diagnosed with a serious mental illness, brain injury or developmental disability. Participation in the program can be paid through Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services (IVRS), Title 19 Habilitation and Waiver Services, county funds or private payment.
